The Animal School
While reading this story, at first I was unsure of the satire aspect of it. However, I then realized that the satirical part is that they wanted every animal to be good at every activity and that is impossible. When an animal was really good at one thing, they had them stop practicing that activity so the animal could get good at all the other activities. Then the animal would lose their excellence in that one category and become average in all the categories. This relates back to me and other people in school. For example, science is my worst subject in school so since I had to put so much time and effort into that one subject, sometimes my grades in my other subjects areas would slip.
Honest College Ad
This video was a mockery of college life. It was honest in the sense that parents may fool themselves into thinking that college is just for learning and it isn't. Even though all of the parts of this video were exaggerated, they were still true to an extent. This video hit all the points of college, including partying and the mixing of races. I think this video took these aspects to far when making fun of them but that is what satire is. For example, when all the people people were sitting at the table talking about mixing races and then the one person said they would rather hangout with a exact copy of themselves, this is apparent on campus. Around our campus, people tend to hangout with others of the same race as them.
